Ko wai tātou | Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced HR professional to join their Business Services team as a HR Business Partner. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape and lead people and performance initiatives across the organisation. This full-time role is based in Rotorua, giving you the chance to be fully immersed on-site, working hands-on with teams and making a real impact every day.

As a HR Business Partner, you’ll lead HR operations and work closely with the Executive Management Team and senior leaders. You’ll help build organisational capability, deliver key people initiatives, and foster a high-performance, values-driven culture. This role offers the opportunity to lead HR activities on the ground while shaping and supporting broader organisational programs like:

  • Leadership coaching and capability development
  • Recruitment and workforce planning
  • Employment relations and case management
  • Policy development and implementation
  • Remuneration and performance management
  • Oversight of payroll operations
  • Contribution to strategic planning

Tohu me te wheako |Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a human resources role, demonstrating a strong track record of delivering results, with advanced knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to create professional presentations and contribute to organisational development initiatives.
  • A sound working knowledge of payroll processes and systems.
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing strategic HR plans.
  • Familiarity with the Employment Hero platform (or similar HRIS) would be advantageous.
