The position
We are looking for an Independent Director to join our committed and passionate Board and to join our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute your strategic insight and governance experience to a sector that shapes the wellbeing and performance of people and organisations across Aotearoa New Zealand.
This opportunity would suit someone excited to gain more board experience, keen to help shape an industry to be future ready, and to be part of a learning journey to embed tikanga Māori at board level and throughout our organisation.
Skills and Experience required
We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about the impact of great people practices and who bring:
- A sound understanding of governance, based on previous experience as a Board Member, reporting to a Board or Committee and/or having completed the IoD Company Director’s course
- Financial skills and commercial acumen
- Commitment to honouring Te Tiriti obligations and meaningfully engaging with te ao Māori.
- An understanding of membership and/or not-for-profit organisations (preferred)
You will be CA qualified, and/or a senior finance professional with experience spanning financial management, financial reporting, and enterprise risk management. Ideally you will have had some exposure to and understanding of the role of a Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

This is a voluntary role, and the appointment will be for an initial term of three years, commencing in October 2025.
