Hayley Coles (Associate) and Nicole Meech (Solicitor) from Duncan Cotterill will be running an informative session on running disciplinary processes from an employment law perspective, broadly covering the following:
-    Key steps
-    Decisions about suspension and formal/preliminary investigations
-    Misconduct versus serious misconduct
-    Out of work conduct (e.g. comments on social media)
-    Best practice tips
Attendees will leave this session with clear understanding of the disciplinary process and how to deal with common issues and roadblocks, while managing legal risk.

Hayley is an Associate in the Employment team at Duncan Cotterill assisting clients with the full spectrum of employment matters and specialising in conducting independent workplace investigations. Hayley has worked in the UK and in New Zealand, supporting a wide variety of clients of differing sizes and across many industries. She regularly assists clients with advice regarding issues such as restructuring and redundancy, performance management, disciplinary processes, responding to personal grievances or addressing bullying and harassment.

Nicole is a Solicitor in the Employment team at Duncan Cotterill. She works closely with a variety of clients to advise on a range of matters including disciplinary and performance processes, restructures and redundancies, and assisting with the defence of personal grievance claims. This includes representing clients during mediations and other employment processes. Nicole also has experience assisting employee clients in raising employment concerns and negotiating exits and settlements.
