Letisha White, Student of the Year 2024

Letisha enjoys supporting organisations through people-focused change, workforce transformation, and future ways of working within Deloitte’s Human Capital practice. A University of Otago graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management and Marketing, Letisha is passionate about helping organisations build high-performing cultures through strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and people strategy. She has been recognised for her contribution to the HR profession as a finalist for the Human Resources New Zealand Student of the Year Award and credits HRNZ and HR at Otago University for the beginning of her passion of HR.

Poppy Fogarty, Student of the Year 2025

Poppy graduated from the University of Otago in 2024 with a major in Human Resource Management and Marketing, alongside a minor in Psychology. During her time at Otago, she was an Otago HRNZ Student Ambassador and was recognised as the 2025 HR Student of the Year. Poppy has since begun her career as a Generalist Graduate at Z Energy, where she is enjoying rotations across different areas of the People and Culture team. Through this experience, she is gaining exposure to a range of HR disciplines, with a particular interest in Employment Relations.

Sophia is a Bachelor of Arts and Commerce student at the University of Otago, majoring in Sociology and Human Resource Management. She was recently awarded HR Person of the Year and HR Student of the Year, and completed a 13-week People Internship at 2degrees in Auckland. As an HRNZ Student Ambassador and active member of the Otago HRNZ Branch Committee, she has delivered CV and interview workshops, led student-focused events, and contributed to national HRNZ initiatives. Her interests centre on supporting students and helping others transition from study into the workforce
