Nicola Tiffen (Partner) and Nicky Robertson (Special Counsel) from Duncan Cotterill will be running an informative session on navigating immigration challenges, broadly covering the following:
- Maximum work visa durations and visa renewals;
- The recently announced pathways to residence;
- Managing risk, and in particular the risk of infringement notices and the loss of accreditation.
Attendees will leave this session with clear understanding of common immigration challenges and practical tips for managing legal risk.

Nicola Tiffen, Partner, Duncan Cotterill
Nicola leads Duncan Cotterill’s immigration practice. She has specialised solely in immigration law for over 20 years, mainly focused on assisting employers and their employees. Duncan Cotterill’s immigration practices advises some of New Zealand’s leading employers, as well as individuals seeking a temporary or permanent pathway into New Zealand for them and their families. Nicola recently chaired the New Zealand Association of Migration and Investment and is regularly invited to present at professional immigration events, both within New Zealand and abroad.
Nicky Robertson, Special Counsel, Duncan Cotterill
Nicky is a specialist immigration lawyer with over 14 years’ experience. She provides practical advice and assistance to employers and their employees. Nicky also assists individual migrants with all types of immigration matters and applications. She also assists with complex immigration issues, including medical and character issues, preparation of Ministerial requests, as well as appeals to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal.
