Gene Park (Senior Solicitor) and Holly Kerr (Solicitor) will be running an informative session on the recent changes to the Employment Relations Act, broadly covering the following:
• Overview of the key legal changes introduced by the Employment Relations Amendment Act
• The new contractor test
• Changes in remedies
• The 200k salary threshold
• What the changes mean in practice for employers
Attendees will leave this session with a greater understanding of the recent changes to help businesses prepare for and respond to the new requirements, while managing legal risk.

Gene is a Senior Solicitor in the Employment team at Duncan Cotterill. He works with a diverse range of clients (including both employees and employers) to advise on a range of matters including employment agreements and policies, disciplinary processes, performance management, investigations, medical incapacity, restructures, and providing advice on personal grievance claims. He also represents clients at mediations and in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court.
Holly Kerr, Solicitor, Duncan Cotterill
Holly is a Solicitor in the Employment team at Duncan Cotterill. She works closely with a variety of clients on a range of matters including restructures and redundancies and disciplinary and performance processes, and advising on personal grievance claims. She also represents clients during mediations.
