Mō te tūranga | About the role
- 12-month fixed term role at 32 hours per week.
- Deliver expert HR guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
- Support leaders through ER matters, change initiatives, and performance conversations.
- Partner with leaders to grow capability and enhance workplace culture.
- Lead or contribute to strategic HR projects and policy improvements.
- Ensure compliance with employment law and alignment with council values.
- Collaborative with a passionate, high-performing People & Capability team.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of generalist HR experience, ideally in complex setting.
- Strong background in employment relations and advisory support.
- In depth knowledge of NZ employment legislation.
- Public sector experience is a bonus.

- Report to the HR Manager and work alongside two Business Partners, an Advisor and two Coordinators with support from a dedicated Analyst.
- Collaborate closely with Learning & Development and Health & Safety teams within People & Capability.
- Provide expert HR support to a diverse organisation of around 650 employees
