About the role - Mō te tūranga mahi

As Senior Employment Relations Advisor, you'll be the trusted expert guiding ACC through complex employment relations matters. You'll provide strategic advice, lead case resolution, and ensure our policies and practices are modern, fair, and compliant. You'll also play a key role in fostering constructive union relationships and supporting managers to confidently navigate ER challenges.

We are recruiting within the People and Culture team, on a fixed-term (up to twelve months), based in Wellington.

About you -Mōu

We're seeking someone with both the technical expertise and the interpersonal skills to make a real impact. You'll bring a strong background in employment relations, ideally within government or other complex organisations, and the ability to influence at senior levels.

We encourage you to apply if you have the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, with significant ER experience in large organisations
  • Proven ability to design, negotiate, and implement ER solutions that support strategic objectives
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, alongside strong project management skills

Demonstrated leadership in applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi to policies, systems, and processes.

The appointing salary for this role will sit between $117,787 and $152,430 and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution. ACC offer a comprehensive benefits package, including an advantageous superannuation scheme with features like 0% contribution required by you, optional life and income protection insurance, and the flexibility to change to a locked plan at any time, ensuring your financial security now and in retirement.
