Internally led by BNZ’s Leadership lead Emma Collins, BNZ partnered with Māori leadership and development specialists Alannah Marriot (Ngati Porou) and Denis Grennell (Maniapoto, Ngāti Toa) of SWITCH Consultants & Trainers LTD to co-design and deliver the programme. They ensured the programme is centred a r o u n d tik a n g a a n d t h r o u g h a M ā o ri worldview. Te Hōkaitanga received funding and support from Te Puni Kō kiri.

This NZQA accreditation of the Rangatahi Programme sits within a wider strategic context and programme of work. Pūmanawa Tāngata is a plan for strengthening Te Toka Tumai culture and building capability and is a people plan that serves to support the delivery their organisational vision and strategy. One of the plan’s five key result areas (KRAs) is to ‘grow and develop ngā kaimahi Māori’.
