Find out how to manage unjustified dismissal and unjustifiable disadvantage claims through fair process, effective communication, and structured problem-solving.
Course Overview
Personal grievances give employees a formal process to challenge certain workplace actions they believe are unfair or unlawful.
This course explores unjustified dismissal, unjustifiable disadvantage, unlawful discrimination, sexual and racial harassment, and other grounds under the Employment Relations Act.
Participants learn to recognise a personal grievance, request clarification and respond within the required timeframes.
Learn how to gather information, assess the merits of a grievance and prepare a written response. Explore the internal steps needed to support fair decisions.
The course covers preparing for mediation and engaging constructively in negotiation to reach practical outcomes.
Our employment lawyer will guide you through choosing an appropriate response and using early negotiation to resolve concerns. You’ll also learn how effective communication and fair processes can reduce legal risk.
We will address key questions such as: What should employers do when a grievance is first raised? How can negotiation or mediation support effective resolution?
