There is no shortage of challenges in the workplace — and people and culture often see more than most. Leaders avoiding people issues, tensions building within teams, poorly run meetings, behaviours not aligned to values. Whether they are small or already escalating, these moments need to be addressed as we see them, not weeks later when they’ve gathered momentum.

This session is focused on the practical side of stepping in. We’ll work through a clear, pragmatic structure for handling conversations in the moment, using real work examples. The aim is to help you spot issues early and respond in a way that is constructive, proportionate, and grounded. In this session you will:

*Be clearer at identifying “spot fires” before they turn into larger issues

*Work through a pragmatic conversation structure using current workplace examples

*Understand the role that both good and gap conversations play in building a healthy culture

About the HR leadership series | Conversations That Count
This highly pragmatic four-part leadership webinar series is designed for HR and People leaders. HR professionals are often the ones guiding others through courageous conversations, performance challenges and complex people dynamics - while navigating those same pressures themselves. This series is led by renowned leadership and feedback expert Georgia Murch (Can We Talk). It's designed to strengthen your confidence and capability in the moments that matter most: addressing issues early, managing emotionally charged conversations, and pushing back on unhelpful problem-solving patterns. Each session is grounded in real workplace dynamics and focused on practical tools you can apply immediately.

Taught at the Leads level - the capability level required for Chartered membership - the series provides valuable insight for those progressing toward chartered status, while remaining highly relevant for anyone wanting to strengthen their leadership presence, communication, and influence.

Each session can be taken individually or as part of the full four-part series.

Georgia Murch, Founder, Can We Talk

Georgia Murch has been in the dance of building better cultures and growing better humans for over 25 years now. She’s also led teams and businesses so she understands the complexity of people and the workplace. She’s done the miles. She’s a best-selling author with four books in the feedback, culture and personal development space. She appears on The Morning Show, Sky News, The AM Show,The Today Show, ABC radio and writes for Huffington Post, AFR, The Australian, news.com.au, Business Chicks, CEO World, Australian HR Institute and Modern Business. She is the Founder of Can We Talk. A business dedicated to creating cultures where people love being at work. For leaders and organisations that don’t want to accept the status quo. Georgia has seen how rare it is, and how magical it can be, when we’re all singing from the same hymn sheet. Moving in the same direction. What she calls; ‘Working as One’. She’s also been called Australasia’s leading expert on feedback and has an ‘Embedding Feedback’ program that helps you give feedback that doesn’t suck (and actually changes the whole culture in the process). As a keynote speaker, Georgia puts passion on a podium and makes sure there’s no gloom on zoom. A remarkable communicator in her own right, she is an inspiring speaker that challenges audiences to become better versions of themselves, their workplaces and their homes. And finally she runs kickarse leadership offsites and onlines (when we can’t gather in person). These are not for the faint-hearted and are definitely not another tick-box strategic planning exercise. They are pretty extraordinary and it’s some of her favourite work. Georgia is passionate, a little left-of-centre, authentic, straight shooting and ‘quirky corporate’. She’s a pilates loving, Mum to two adults, lives in both NZ and Australia and a self-confessed excellent reverse parker.
