Presenter Details
Geoff Summers
Geoff Summers is one of New Zealand’s most respected and accomplished specialists in Human Resource Management, with over five decades of professional experience. Widely regarded as a leading authority in remuneration management and employment relations, Geoff has contributed significantly to shaping HR practice across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. He brings extensive governance experience, having served in leadership roles across a broad spectrum of organisations, and continues to influence national policy through his current role as Chair of the Remuneration Authority, having previously served as a Member and Deputy Chair since 2016. Geoff has also played a pivotal role in recognising and celebrating excellence in the HR profession as a judge for the New Zealand HR Awards since their inception in 1999, including over a decade as Chief Judge from 2011 to 2022. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Business Studies in Human Resource Management—both with distinction—from Massey University. His professional standing is reflected in his designation as a Distinguished Fellow of Human Resources New Zealand (HRNZ), the highest level of Chartered status within the organisation. In 2020, Geoff was honoured with the HRNZ Lifetime Achievement Award—only the second individual to receive this prestigious recognition. In addition to his governance roles, Geoff is an active Business Consultant with Future Advantage Business Consulting Limited, offering strategic advice in HR, remuneration, and organisational effectiveness.
Chelsea Mapp
Chelsea Mapp, HRNZ’s Professional Accreditation Manager, Chelsea joined HRNZ in January 2025 and leads the Accreditation and Chartering programmes, supporting HR professionals on their path to certification. With experience across both International and New Zealand roles, Chelsea brings expertise in areas including Mobility, Immigration, Recruitment, D&I, Employment Relations, and Te ao Māori. She has worked in both government and commercial sectors, offering a broad understanding of the HR landscape.
