HRNZ Bay of Plenty Branch is pleased to partner with Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology who will share their journey on enhancing the cultural consciousness of their employees through the creation of a comprehensive learning and development programme that embraces Te Ao Māori.


Join us at the Windermere campus in Tauranga to learn more about the process, challenges and benefits as Toi Ohomai share their rationale, engagement data, L&D resources and their cultural competency framework with participants.

Presenter Details

Rick Hopcroft, Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology

Rick Hopcroft has over a decade of experience in the field of Learning & Development. He currently serves as the Learning & Development Manager at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, where he plays a pivotal role in supporting kaimahi in their professional journey. In addition to his role at Toi Ohomai, Rick also serves as a Training Officer at Rīpeka Whero Aotearoa / New Zealand Red Cross within the Disaster Welfare and Support Team and is a member of the National Training Working Group. One of Rick's key passions lies in engaging kaimahi and those doing Mahi Aroha in valuable learning experiences, fostering both professional and personal development, especially within the equity space, which he has been lucky enough to be involved in at both organisations recently. Rick is also a busy husband, father of two young boys, volunteer and great supporter of the local arts.
