Melissa Vining and Janet Copeland will lead this in-depth workshop exploring the intersection of employment, immigration, and health and safety law, and the significant personal liability implications for directors and key personnel. This session is tailored for 

Directors and professionals in the finance, legal, and investment sectors, equipping them with the critical knowledge needed to advise companies that employ staff and operate in complex regulatory environments.
Key topics will include the evolving case law that demonstrates how the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, and regulators are increasingly lifting the corporate veil—potentially exposing directors to personal liability. The workshop will also examine immigration compliance risks, as well as the increasing scrutiny from WorkSafe and other agencies in health and safety enforcement, particularly in the wake of the Ports of Auckland case.
