About

I hold 15+ years’ experience within NZ and the UK across Private Sector, Not for Profit and Government from SMEs to 85,000 employee organisations although have mainly worked within healthcare and the Not For Profit sectors. I have held roles up to HR Manager / Lead level with exposure to the full HR remit. Significant involvement with ER, change management, service transfer mobilisations, M&A. I hold a Bachelor of Business Studies (HR Management & Management), a Bachelor of Accountancy, and am an Associate of NZIM and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK).

Achievements and wins within my current role include replacement of an HRIS introducing an integrated HR & payroll solution saving net FTE resource, significant improvements in HR infrastructure and services, introduction of a new remuneration framework and gender pay reporting resulting in a zero gap as a direct result, achieved an integrated or advanced rating for each area of our Te Uru Tāngata Centre for Workplace Inclusion workplace inclusivity matrix, led and supported the successful outcomes of several awards entries – Gold Awards: Winner for Best Practice HR & Wellness, Rainbow Excellence Awards: Winner of Z Energy SME Rainbow Inclusivity Award, 2 Degrees Regional Business Excellence Awards: Finalist for Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources NZ: Finalist for Mana Tangata / Māori Leader Award, and achieved Rainbow Tick certification.

Outside of HR I like to travel (39 countries to date) and I’ve been a property investor for almost as long as I’ve been in HR, with strategies such as standard rentals, new build acquisitions, renovations, serviced accommodation / Airbnb, and rental arbitrage in New Zealand, England and Wales. Throughout these activities I have held various Chairperson, Director and Committee Member roles on Management Companies, Body Corporates and Residents Associations. I am a business person / investor first, then an HR Professional.

I have received mentoring myself early in my career and have recently rejoined HRNZ so wish to give back to the community to support and develop others in any ways that I can.
