What led you to a career in HR/the position that you are in currently?
I started my journey in Payroll and became more interested in the HR field so carried on down that pathway. I thrive on the interactions with people and being able to hopefully make a difference.
What do you love about working in HR?
I love the variation that my day brings and problem solving for people.
Are there any specific highlights of your career that you wish to share?
There are quite a few! I was selected for the Fletcher Women to Leadership programme which was a great experience. Another highlight was having some amazing mentoring by a lawyer in one of my previous roles.
What are your thoughts on Chartered Membership? How do you feel about being a Chartered Member?
I feel privileged to have achieved this. I think when you are in your day to day lives, you forget what you have learnt on your career journey, so this solidifies for me that I am being recognised for my years in the HR space.
What motivated you to work towards becoming a Chartered Member?
My boss gave me the nudge I needed! In my current workplace, we are supporting a lot of the team to become chartered in their fields, and I wanted to set an example but also it was important for me to recognise my own achievements over the years.
What are your next steps in terms of your career now that you are a Chartered Member?
I am at the stage of my life where I really want to start giving back more to the up-and-coming HR professionals by being a mentor.
