What led you to a career in HR and the position that you are in currently?
I began my career in technology, but my curiosity about people and psychology lead me into HR. It’s the perfect space to combine my technical skills with my passion for people - streamlining processes, spotting insights, and most importantly, helping people and teams succeed in a workplace they love.
What do you love about working in HR?
I get to make a real impact across the business by supporting employees, guiding managers, and helping teams grow. Knowing that every decision and interaction can affect someone’s work life makes the role both meaningful and exciting. Every decision and interaction can shape someone’s work life, which keeps the role exciting and meaningful. Being kind, compassionate, and staying true to my values is at the heart of everything I do, and that’s what makes HR so rewarding for me.
What is an achievement so far in your career that you are proud of?
One of my biggest achievements has been moving to Aotearoa and rebuilding my career. Adapting to a new workplace culture, learning employment legislation was challenging but transformative. Today, I am a trusted go-to advisor for people leaders, which I truly treasure.
What was the experience of becoming an Accredited Professional Member like for you?
It helped me understand the path I’m on in my career and gave me clarity and confidence about the direction I want to take moving forward.
Do you plan to work towards becoming a Chartered Member?
Yes, I’m excited to get started and am committed to working hard towards becoming a Chartered Member.
Where do you see you career heading from this point forwards?
I see my career heading towards a strategic leadership role where I can leverage my technology & people skills to drive impactful HR practices.
