About

Identifying Psychosocial hazards at work has taken centre stage within the HR community. As fellow HR professionals, you already know how much of a difference it makes to lead teams that are (mostly) fully charged. You see the impact every day; when batteries are full - energy is steady, conversations are easier, resilience is stronger, and people have the capacity to do their best work. But you also know how quickly pressure, change, and workload can chip away at that.

The Great Recharge  is an award-winning workshop series grounded in neuroscience, strength psychology, and behavioural change. Delivered by YOUR in-house teams or our facilitators, we uniquely focus on preventing burnout by strengthening protective factors and addressing many known psychosocial hazards. Instead of dwelling on distress, our workshops empower your team to understand the science of strength and take proactive steps to stay healthy and high performing. Our partnership with the team at My Everyday Wellbeing and the Crafted Career Programmes means that even when our workshops end, your team can seamlessly continue their journey towards more (mostly) good days.

As an experienced and qualified HR practitioner, I wanted to design a solution that removes the burden on in-house teams to continually ensure materials are research-informed and up to date.

By delivering in-house, the workshop impacts go even further. Allowing wellbeing to be shaped around your culture, your people, and the realities of your work by embedding shared language, practical tools, and meaningful conversations where they matter most: in everyday moments, not just workshops.

For HR teams, this means support that is:

  • Practical and easy to implement.
  • Credible with leaders and teams.
  • Aligned to both wellbeing and performance.
  • Designed to create affordable and lasting cultural shift, not short-term expensive uplift.
  • Easily focused on the psychosocial risks within your sector.

Most importantly, it gives your people something simple but powerful - the ability to stay steady, strong, and capable, even during demanding seasons of work. They no longer have to choose between high performance, or health.

If you’re exploring ways to build a healthier culture that takes psychosocial risk seriously, then I’d love to explore how The Great Recharge could support you. Please get in touch for a chat.

Describe your product or service and what it delivers:

What size business or organisation does your product/ service suit?

The Great Recharge Off-the-Shelf solutions are suited to organisations with a skilled and experienced in-house facilitation/L&D team. Our team of Great Recharge facilitators across NZ and Australia can deliver The Great Recharge into smaller organisations without this capability.

What kinds of organisations may be interested in your product/ service

The Great Recharge will be of interest to any organisation that is serious about building a healthy and high performing workplace culture. This goes well beyond engagement surveys, by exploring how wellbeing enables engagement to endure. Since 2020 our clients have included: Alpine Energy, Grant Thorton International, BDO, Franklin Vets, McKenzie & Co, FENZ, Coca Cola EP and the Australian Legal sector. All these well-known organisations have accessed Quick Charge, Fully Charged and/or Lead the Charge, with Alpine Energy a 2025 Finalist in the HRNZ awards for their approach.

How long has your product/ service been on the market?

The Great Recharge workshops were launched in 2020 thanks to the success of Kathryn Jacksons book, Resilience at Work (Routledge, 2018). ‘Lessons Learned’ from researching the rebuilding of Canterbury NZ highlighted that it’s possible to enjoy high performance AND health despite working in a challenging environment, so the book and the workshops explore what contributes to this. As psychosocial risk mitigation takes centre stage, The Great Recharge workshops give HR teams an off-the-shelf educational solution to consider, support and in some cases address their obligations.

What does your standard product cost?

Is your product an off the shelf solution, or does it require customisation?

The Great Recharge workshops are available as off-the-shelf solutions which can be customized if desired. The workshops standalone and are regularly delivered by a team of NZ and Australia based facilitators – but in-house they can be deeply aligned with your culture as evidenced by Alpine Energy, a 2025 Finalist for the HRNZ Awards with FullyCharged.

How long does your product take to implement? How does customisation impact this?

The Great Recharge workshops can be implemented immediately. For longer term impact, we provide resources and consulting to support measurement of impact and ROI. Our recommendation is that The Great Recharge becomes a programme of regular learning that is referenced within Pulse or Engagement surveys. We also provide reference points for tracking (e.g. our clients receive a Facilitator Guide) to enable them to notice and report results to the executive team. The degree of customization is entirely at the behest of the client. For example, our highest customization is currently Grant Thornton International who have designed bite sized self-directed learning events using our materials.

What is your post-implementation support? Are there costs to this or is the up-front cost inclusive of additional support?

Where The Great Recharge is delivered by our facilitation team, post-implementation support is reasonably built into the workshop delivery price. The annual license for organisations that prefer to deliver in-house includes reasonable support throughout the year to ensure The Great Recharge is making a positive difference to workplace culture. Franklin Vet has been delivering the workshops for more than four years in-house, and enjoys quarterly check-ins to review their attendee experience, design additional resources and explore links to veterinary specific research.

Would you be able to provide example customers/ organisations who would be willing to allow site-visits for potential customers to view a demonstration of the product or service in action?

Absolutely. This can be provided upon request to ensure a match to the size and sector of any new customer of The Great Recharge.
