About

Axis of Action is a New Zealand leadership, organisational transformation and governance consultancy that helps organisations move from intention to action. We partner with executives, boards, leadership teams and emerging leaders to build the clarity, capability and confidence needed to deliver meaningful and sustainable change.

Our work combines strategic thinking with practical implementation, ensuring ideas become measurable outcomes rather than remaining plans on paper. Our services include executive and leadership coaching, organisational transformation advisory, governance support, strategic facilitation, capability development, and tailored workshops.

Whether supporting an individual leader, facilitating a senior leadership team, or advising on complex organisational change, we focus on creating momentum that lasts. At the heart of our approach is the Axis Framework, a practical model that helps people align purpose, perspective, capability and action. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all programmes, every engagement is designed around the unique context, challenges and aspirations of the organisation and its people.

Axis of Action works across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, bringing extensive experience in strategy, transformation, regulation, governance, organisational design, leadership development and culture change. We understand the realities of leading through complexity and help organisations make confident decisions while building capability for the future.

Our coaching programmes support leaders at every stage of their journey, from aspiring leaders through to executives, while our organisational services help teams strengthen decision making, improve collaboration, navigate change and translate strategy into everyday practice.

We believe lasting transformation happens when people have both the agency and the practical tools to take action. Our role is to create the conditions where leaders, teams and organisations can think clearly, lead confidently and achieve outcomes that matter.

Turning Purpose into Impact.

Our services are designed for organisations of all sizes, from small (from 15 employees) and medium enterprises through to large public sector agencies, local government, not-for-profit organisations and corporate enterprises. Programmes are scalable and can be tailored for individual leaders, executive teams, governance boards or organisation-wide transformation initiatives. We work with organisations navigating change, building leadership capability, strengthening governance, improving decision-making or embedding new ways of working.

What kinds of organisations may be interested in your product/ service?

Axis of Action works across both public and private sectors. Typical clients include government agencies, councils, infrastructure providers, regulated industries, professional services firms, education providers, not-for-profits and growing businesses. Our services are particularly valuable for organisations undertaking organisational change, leadership development, strategic planning, governance improvement or capability uplift, and for those wanting practical approaches that connect strategy with delivery.

How long has your product/ service been on the market?

Axis of Action was established in late 2024, building on more than 20 years of leadership, organisational transformation and advisory experience across New Zealand's public and private sectors. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a tailored proposal.

Are there annual licensing costs? How are these structured?

No annual licensing fees apply to our standard coaching, advisory or facilitation services.

Where organisations choose to embed or continue using Axis of Action intellectual property, such as proprietary workbooks, leadership resources, diagnostic tools or training frameworks, licensing or subscription arrangements may be available. These are structured according to the intended use, including the number of users, facilitators, locations or duration of the licence.

Licensing enables organisations to deliver selected programmes internally while maintaining access to current materials and agreed support. All licensing arrangements are tailored to the client's requirements and are discussed as part of the engagement. Organisations that simply engage us to deliver services do not incur ongoing licensing fees unless they elect to license our intellectual property for continued internal use.

Is your product an off the shelf solution, or does it require customisation?

Axis of Action combines proven frameworks with tailored delivery. Our leadership programmes, coaching methodology and practical tools provide a structured foundation, while every engagement is adapted to the organisation's context, objectives, culture and strategic priorities.

This approach ensures clients benefit from evidence-informed practices without receiving a generic programme. We work collaboratively to understand organisational challenges, existing capability and desired outcomes before tailoring workshops, coaching, advisory services or governance support to maximise relevance and impact.

How long does your product take to implement? How does customisation impact this?

Implementation depends on the nature of the engagement.

Individual coaching can commence within one to two weeks of confirmation. Workshops are typically designed and delivered within two to four weeks, depending on participant availability and preparation requirements.

Larger organisational transformation or governance engagements generally begin with a discovery and diagnostic phase, followed by a jointly agreed delivery plan. These projects may range from several weeks to several months, depending on complexity, organisational size and the scope of change.

Customisation is an important part of our approach rather than an additional service. Time is invested upfront to understand organisational context, strategic objectives, stakeholder needs and existing capability. This enables programmes and advisory support to be directly relevant to the client's environment while maintaining efficient delivery using established frameworks, tools and methodologies.

What is your post-implementation support? Are there costs to this or is the up-front cost inclusive of additional support?

Post-engagement support is tailored to the needs of each client. Most engagements include agreed follow-up support, such as coaching sessions, implementation check-ins, access to practical tools and resources, and advice to help sustain momentum after the initial programme or project.

Where organisations require longer-term support, we offer ongoing executive coaching, governance advisory, leadership development and transformation partnering through flexible retainer or fixed-term arrangements.

Support requirements are discussed during scoping so organisations have clarity about what is included in the initial engagement and what optional services are available. Our objective is to help clients build internal capability rather than create long-term dependency on external support.

Would you be able to provide example customers/ organisations who would be willing to allow site-visits for potential customers to view a demonstration of the product or service in action?

Due to the confidential nature of executive coaching, governance and organisational transformation work, client site visits are generally not appropriate. However, with client permission, we are happy to provide referees, testimonials and examples of previous work where appropriate. We can also demonstrate our methodologies, tools and programme approach through an introductory meeting or workshop.
