Anexa Veterinary Services is looking for an experienced People, Safety & Culture Lead to help shape and drive our people strategy, strengthen workplace culture, and lead health & safety performance across our veterinary business.

Anexa Veterinary Services are a group of veterinary clinics across the Waikato and Hauraki Plains, providing services to dairy and sheep and beef farmers and family pets. Each clinic is unique, but at Anexa, we are one values based team. Animal health and proactive customer service is at our core.

About the Role

While this position reports to the CEO you will work closely with leaders at all levels, providing trusted advice across employee relations, industrial relations and change management as well as championing engagement, wellbeing and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll play a key role in preparing roles for recruitment, leading end-to-end hiring processes, building strong workforce capability across the organisation and have a practical hands on approach to health and safety. You will also be responsible for monitoring, analysing and reporting monthly HR and Health & Safety performance metrics while leading the Health & Safety Committee and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The People, Safety and Culture Lead role requires a strong communicator, a person who can build trusted relationships quickly, someone who can operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level. You’ll be someone who takes initiative, brings practical solutions, and gets things done.

You’ll also lead and support our HR Coordinator who manages the day-to-day HR administration function, while continuing to develop their capability and growth.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR / People & Culture role
  • Strong understanding of NZ employment legislation and practically based health & safety requirements
  • Sound coaching and influencing skills
  • The ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
