Excellent opportunity for an experienced Organisation Design Lead
NZQA is seeking an experienced Organisation Design Lead to drive and embed change across a large and complex work area, navigating through a period of transformation. This role will work closely with senior leaders, delivery teams and subject matter experts to ensure change is successfully implemented.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people, delivery teams and experts are set up for success as we introduce new ways of working. You will work across diverse teams to understand impacts, co‑design solutions, and support smooth implementation and adoption.
You'll bring subject matter expertise, pragmatism, and empathy – ensuring work delivery and values-driven, people centred change strategy and implementation.
This is a six-month fixed term opportunity (from March to August 2026).
What you'll be doing
Partner with leaders and stakeholders (including union representatives) to develop and implement fit‑for‑purpose change management strategies and plans
Support and enable leaders and teams to build readiness and capability
Drive engagement using clear, inclusive, and accessible communication
Facilitate workshops, briefings, and training sessions
Support leaders to champion change in their teams
Monitor progress and evaluate the outcomes of change initiatives

We're looking for someone who brings both technical change expertise and the interpersonal strengths to build trust and influence at all levels.
Proven experience driving change in large, complex work programmes
Strong understanding of change frameworks (e.g Prosci, ADKAR or similar), project delivery and assurance
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments
Demonstrated ability to manage complex interdependencies and prioritise competing demands
Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills
A collaborative, values‑led approach and build trust at all levels
A solutions-focused mindset
Education or wider Public Sector experience desired but not essential
Experience working in organisational development initiatives is essential.
