Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

This is a hands-on senior leadership role. You will lead employment relations, workforce planning, recruitment, remuneration frameworks, and HR operations, while supporting managers to handle people matters with confidence and consistency. You will also contribute to strategic workforce planning and organisational development alongside the Director, Enabling and Corporate Services.

NHHT operates in a demanding employment environment: two active workplace organisations, professional registration frameworks, pay equity processes, and the interface between clinical governance and people systems. You need to understand this landscape.

Ko wai koe | About you

  • Proven senior HR experience in health, social services, disability, or a sector with registered workforces and collective agreements.
  • Strong employment relations capability: investigations, disciplinary processes, personal grievances, collective agreement management.
  • Experience with pay equity obligations, HRIS development, and using workforce data to support decisions.
  • Practical and direct, with a track record of building management capability.
  • Genuine commitment to kaupapa Māori values and the confidence to engage on marae.
