We’re Looking for a Full-time HR Consultant / People Partner!

Spice is not your usual HR consultancy. We do bold, practical HR for real-world businesses. No templates, no corporate wallpaper, just smart, right-sized solutions that actually work for SMEs.

The Gig

You’ll partner with a mix of awesome small to medium businesses, giving confident, pragmatic advice across the full HR spectrum. You’ll keep clients steady in the tricky moments, help them grow great teams, and you won’t be shy about meeting new people and growing your own client portfolio along the way.

How You Roll (The Secret Sauce)

  • You flex into the grey. Best practice is great, but you know how to turn it into ‘best possible’ for this business, today.
  • You bring options, not ultimatums. A, B, C, with pros, cons, effort, cost and likely outcomes, all in plain English.
  • You can influence without the final say. The owner chooses, you guide, negotiate and land the sweet spot between ideal and practical.
  • You’re commercial with backbone. You stand in the owner’s shoes, then push back when needed, calmly, clearly and with a twinkle in your eye.
  • You talk risk like a business owner. Trade-offs explained, advice documented, eyes wide open.
  • You like people, not just policies. You love to network, nurture relationships and have the knack of turning good chats into long-term clients.

What You'll Do

  • Advise on employment relations, performance, change, culture, T&D, H&S and compliance.
  • Create fit-for-purpose docs and deliver tidy, on-time work across multiple clients.
  • Scope and run projects that suit SME budgets and timelines.
  • Proactively check in, spot issues early and keep clients feeling supported.
  • Build the pipeline through networking, referrals and a touch of thought leadership.

What You Bring

  • Great team spirit, a great sense of humour and the ability to laugh at yourself.
  • Proven senior HR experience, ideally with SMEs or across multiple industries.
  • Sharp judgement, strong ethics and the confidence to stand behind your advice.
  • A creative, problem-solving streak and a calm head under pressure.
  • Top-tier communication, from tactful tough chats to crisp writing and facilitation.
  • Serious organisation – time management and attention to detail, with lots on the go.
  • A self-starter vibe and genuine care for clients and colleagues
