About

Ko wai mātou | About us

Well, it’s not actually about us at all. It’s about the people and communities we serve. Ngāti Toa is a vibrant and influential iwi, firmly grounded in our cultural identity. And we’re paddling our own waka forward in leading significant change in enhancing the mana, wellbeing and prosperity of Ngāti Toa and the communities in which we thrive.

Ko te tīmā | About the team

You will join a team of people who are passionate about what they do. We are located in a shared space that enables us to work collectively and collaboratively to deliver all aspects in the Human Resources spectrum. We have one key player missing….that is you….our new Remuneration Specialist.

Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role

Terms: Permanent

Based: Whitireia, Porirua

The Remuneration Specialist is pivotal in leading, influencing and shaping the development of the remuneration strategy across the Rūnanga, particularly in the areas of rewards, benefits, performance management, remuneration and position management.

Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, and administering a competitive and equitable remuneration framework to attract, motivate and retain our kaimahi.

Your advice and guidance will be interwoven with tikanga, and our remuneration strategy will support our Moemoeā, to be a strong, vibrant and influential iwi, firmly grounded in our cultural identity and leading change to enable whānau wellbeing and prosperity.

Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you

Well, after hearing about us and about the role, you’ll know whether you’re the right person, and whether now is the right time for you. Your high-level experience and professional expertise in Human Resources (more specifically remuneration and benefits), supported by a relevant degree, is a given, and you will be excited to engage and learn alongside Ngāti Toa. Of course, you’ll be well practiced in:

  • Unravelling the legal jargon
  • Interpreting data so that it makes sense,
  • Connecting the HR dots for our kaimahi and
  • Building fantastic working relationships with your team and wider peers.

But the thing that will really stand out is your love for the work, and the people. The Rūnanga is a diverse and inclusive organisation positioned to understand and serve our communities. So, you’ll be ready to give your best in the service of others, in areas that matter.

And in return for your hard work, we can offer you:

  • Work / Life Balance
  • Modern environment with a friendly team
  • Kaimahi centred discounts across banking and wellbeing activities
  • Commitment to professional development
  • The opportunity to serve our iwi and community aspirations – to be a part of a bigger purpose.
