This well-established and well-known Hamilton based community oriented organisation is focused on supporting individuals and their families make meaningful changes to enhance their health and well-being. It is in a transition process of relocating to a purpose built facility, and preparing to deliver services in new and different way. This is an exciting and challenging time to be joining the organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this influential senior management role will help to lead the establishment and implementation of an integrated strategic people framework across multiple business entities, working with organisational leaders, staff and key stakeholders. This role will be expected to enable and support the delivery of the organisation’s medium to longer term strategies and targeted outcomes, through growing the capability of its people, with leaders and teams having the skills and competencies to perform optimally. 

The organisation has invested in a new HRIS system, and integrating the people framework and associated tools into this, and enabling managers to utilise it, will be an important ongoing focus for the future.

Recruitment, succession planning and talent management will be key areas of focus, along with ensuring that the organisation’s values are always evident in how people work and behave with each other, and with external stakeholders. You will also be expected to lead and develop a skilled and passionate team member.

To be considered for this position, you must have had proven strategic and operational HR and health, safety and wellbeing experience in a senior leadership role. You must also have excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and be skilled at working with and supporting senior managers with their people development. Having a good understanding of working with different cultures, ideally Pasifika, is highly desirable. 

Creative thinking and problem solving capabilities will be sought after attributes, along with an ability to deliver practical and sensible solutions and advice. Being well organised with high attention to detail, are also important for this role. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HR manager to work with a strongly HR oriented Chief Executive, and take on a new influential leadership role that will have an organisational wide influence, and will include presenting strategic people initiatives to the Board.
