The role/Te mahi
Our highly regarded Payroll team deliver trustworthy centralised payroll services for approximately 4500 employees across all our campuses. With a diverse workforce and a wide variety of employment arrangements to understand and administer, you will be challenged and kept busy.
As part of the Processing team, you will be responsible for time critical tasks to prepare, calculate and deliver our pay runs and complete associated 3rd party procedures.
You will have the support of the broader Payroll team, a comprehensive HR infrastructure, and colleagues across the wider Human Resources Division.

Successful candidates will have:
- Proven experience in a busy and/or complex payroll operational function.
- A sound understanding of current NZ employment law and HR practices.
- A reputation for attention to detail and accuracy.
- A passion for delivering exceptional service to customers.
- A belief in being a positive team member and working collegially.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence with technology, including the Microsoft suite of programmes, especially Excel.
- Proven experience in an environment where confidentiality and professional boundaries are expected.
- Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner, including understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

We have two full-time (37.5 hours per week) positions available. One is permanent and one is fixed term parental leave cover for approximately 12 to 14 months.
Both roles are based in Dunedin.

The appointment salary range for this role is $61,360 to $65,879. Top of the range is $71,150, per annum.
