Based in New Zealand's largest hotel, with 650 rooms, large food and beverage offerings, and an acclaimed Chuan Spa, this is not your typical HR role.

Along with the generalist gambit of HR, this role is also responsible for CONNECT (our sustainability programme), giving a variety to the role like no other.

 

You will oversee an engaged and passionate team of six, who cover everything from our day-to-day activities such as recruitment, admin, engagement and L&D to sustainability initiatives.

Working alongside our experienced Executive Committee and Heads of Department / Manager's, you will be supporting, coaching and mentoring a highly performing team as they support a team of 500+ Colleagues.

 

Your key focuses, include:

Building Colleague and Candidate experience

Storytelling our Workplace Culture Globally

Targeted Talent Retention and Development

ER and NZ employment law

 

The hows of achieving these include:

Driving our engagement survey from fruition to action plan execution success

Driving targeted retention strategies

Focusing on succession planning

Employment Branding

 

 

Who are we looking for?

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Someone full of motivation, inspiration and passion.

Someone who can have fun! People are our business; it is up to you to create an environment with our leadership team that brings out the best in our talent.

Someone who is not afraid of hard work – it is a very hands on role!

Experienced in busy, volume hotels - the bigger the better

Working experience in NZ environment is preferred, up to date with NZ employment law 

Having worked with a union including negotiations would be highly desirable

You'll have business nous and savvy - you understand the financials, read and interpret P&Ls, write the budget, understand the impact small and large tweaks of people and culture and what this means to the business

Up to speed with the ever-changing immigration requirements - we are currently an Accredited Immigration Employer

Salary package varies from 120k to 150k/year, depending on candidate’s experience
